Unspoilt and wild, the Vallée d’Aulps is home to many natural wonders. On skis, bike on foot, on a horse or a paraglider, or even with a fishing rod in your hands, there’s a special way to explore every corner of our valley!

Description

  • Between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, in Haute-Savoie, the Aulps Valley combines the charm of typical mid-mountain villages with proximity to the Portes du Soleil ski area and internationally renowned resorts such as Morzine and Avoriaz. Two remarkable sites are members of the Léman Sans Frontière association.

    SAINTE-MARIE D'AULPS ABBEY

The Abbey of Aulps welcomes you to its estate, rich in 700 years of monastic life.

Around the remains of the 12th-century abbey church, listed as a Historic Monument, discover 3 hectares of green cloisters, cellars, a medicinal herb garden, a medieval vegetable garden, an orchard and a conservatory rose garden. The tour of the estate can be enhanced with a tablet or virtual reality headset to see the old buildings.
The monastic farm houses 650 m² of exhibition space. The history of the abbey is told from its foundation to its destruction through modern and interactive scenography, completely redone in 2020. The contemporary art space presents the works of one artist each year. Numerous events also enliven the site throughout the year.

    THE DEVIL'S BRIDGE GORGES

The Devil's Bridge Gorges are an iconic GEOLOGICAL NATURAL SITE in the Aulps Valley.

Classified as a Remarkable Site since 1908, the Devil's Bridge Gorges have been part of the UNESCO Chablais Geopark since 2012.
The walk begins through a magnificent beech forest and continues some 70 metres below through a structure anchored in the rock. A great place to visit with family or friends! The more adventurous can try the ‘PAS DU DIABLE’ (Devil's Step), a glass structure located 60 metres above the ground.
Located between Thonon-les-Bains and Morzine, the site offers a pleasant and refreshing walk in summer. It is perfect for visiting in rainy weather and provides a glimpse of the natural forces still at work...
