130 years since the Lumière brothers' first public screening
On 28 December 1895, the Lumière brothers held the first film screening in a cinema
Description
We will commemorate this anniversary with the screening of silent and previously unseen films.
For this anniversary, we will be screening ‘La Valse à la mode’ from 1908, a silent film accompanied by mechanical musical instruments, in which Maurice Chevalier appears in one of his first roles.
La Féérie des Automates from 1928 and ‘Je ne suis qu'un chien’, a previously unseen film from 1950 animated by Léo Noël and his barrel organ.
