Description
1862. Colombe and Isabeau join the 300 miners at the Bex Salt Mines. As newcomers, they must prove themselves. But who is Colombe, and what is he really after? Why is the foreman stealing salt and brine? Will the pastor and the county engineer manage to prevent the mines from closing? And what is this enigmatic hermit hiding, who seems to know everything?
Through intrigue, humour and emotion, the show immerses the audience in the miners’ daily lives: their hopes, their sorrows, their courage and their madness. We also discover the processes of salt extraction, brought to life by a singer-guitarist who seems to make the soul of the mountain resonate.
A touching and accessible journey through time that will make young and old alike laugh.
